Below is an overview of my work with the Irvington Middle School Earth Science Regents course as their leave replacement teacher. The work below focused on four main unit topics; earth systems, units of measurement and interpreting data, topography, and geology. Following the NY Next Generation Standards, I linked studentβs lab work to real-life phenomena that actual scientists would be tasked within their particular branch of the Earth Sciences. The work also documents how I assessed and evaluated student performances around core concepts through practice tests. This data and information was used to prepare students for their actual practice Regents test simulations.
