Peace Corps Nepal Educational Development Work
Below is an overview of the educational material that I developed for Peace Corps Nepal during my time as a Food Security Volunteer (2013β 2015). The educational work that can be seen below came out of a need for a simplified, easy-to-access educational cheat sheet that focused on Food Security issues that many Nepalese villagers and volunteers were experiencing. The works objective was to provided Nepalese villagers and volunteers with highly visualized schematic educational materials that through the use of simple language and visuals made it easy for an individual to access the content and feel confident that they could follow the step-by-step guides to achieving the desired outcome of the activity whether it be making an improved cookstove or in starting a coffee nursery. Upon the completion of the educational training materials, they became a part of Corps Nepalβs Pre-Service Training and In-Service Training program and served as part of the program's curriculum compendium of educational activities. This work was made possible with the help and support of the Peace Corps Nepal staff; Nelson Chase, Diana Partl, Staff Raju Kandel, Chakra BK, and Daulat Karki, along with the help and support of such Peace Corps Volunteers' Matthew Freeman, Ben Wagner, and Garrett Morris and the many families and farmers that provided critical feedback on revisions to the educational materials.
