π Agroforestry: A Cornell Curricular Field Journalπ³
This field journal chronicles my 14-week graduate course in Agroforestry (NTRES 6940: Practicum in Forest Farming as an Agroforestry System), highlighting key insights, practices, and curriculum applications. It is designed as a practical guide for implementing agroforestry education within the Irvington School District. As the Director of Education and Head Land Steward at Irvington Woods Parkβs Village Nature Center, I will adapt this curriculum to engage students and community members from Kindergarten through 12th grade. Each lesson is aligned with the New York State Next Generation Science Standards, fostering hands-on, experiential learning to promote environmental stewardship. This journal also serves as a curriculum template for my ongoing work in Irvington, N.Y., where I collaborate with the Village and School District to deliver impactful, standards-aligned educational programs. I extend my gratitude to Professor Chad Cutty, Dr. Steven Morreale, Dr. Kenneth Mudge, and Dr. Tom Whitlow for their mentorship and guidance in shaping this resource. Their expertise has been instrumental in its development. Access the full curriculum PDF here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1HNroO3yc4hv9A27imNclpcUL4Jpz4dr6/view?usp=sharing
