π Educational Design Work β Mango Nursery and MGMT π₯
During my seven months at Cagayan State University-Lal-lo, I served as the lead curriculum and educational developer. Our focus was on creating instructional materials to address challenges in mango grafting and nursery management for low-income farmers in Region 2 of Northern Luzon, Philippines. Collaborating with faculty members from Cagayan State University and Isabella State University, we aimed to enhance fieldwork with rural farmers and families, emphasizing the establishment of demonstration nurseries to generate income through superior quality grafted mangoes. Key Components: Cultivating high-quality rootstock for grafting carabao mangos. Developing training materials for three highly effective best practice grafting techniques: cleft grafting, inarching, and veneer grafting. Conducting workshops and training university faculty and students on the accessibility and usage of new technologies for immersive instruction, including open-source creative design programs, 3D printing, and scanning for rapid prototyping of instructional materials. Translating all educational training materials into English, Ilocano, Ibinag, and Tagalog for accessibility in both physical and digital formats. This ensures open access to information for farmers, development agencies, and universities through the websites of Cagayan State University, Isabella State University, and the Commission of Higher Education of the Philippines (CHED). π π π₯
