The Living Forest Speaker Series is a project I helped coordinate and design for the O'Hara Nature Center and the Village of Irvington.
Funded through a New York State Legislative Initiative Grant sponsored by Assemblymember MaryJane Shimsky and administered by the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation, the series brought nationally recognized scientists to our community to explore forest ecology, biodiversity, conservation, and stewardship. Through public lectures, guided field experiences, and educational resources, the program connected current ecological research with local conservation, inspiring residents to see Irvington Woods Park as both an outdoor classroom and a living ecosystem worthy of long-term stewardship.
